The first time I ever stepped into a gym was in college. Having never excelled at team sports or much of anything athletic in my youth, the gym had never felt like a welcoming space. I had no idea how to navigate the gym or put together a halfway decent workout!
I wasted years on bad workouts - and even worse diets. I quickly developed a bad relationship with food and exercise that I attribute mostly to a deep lack of knowledge - and the complete absence of any professional guidance in those early years.
Since becoming a personal trainer over 8 years ago, my goal has been to be the coach and role model I wish I had in those initial years. I know first hand how much frustration, uncertainty, and inefficiency can be avoided when you have a good coach in your corner.
I have extensive experience working with clients from a wide range of ages and backgrounds - from early 20s to late 70s. I love to show people how strength training can enhance their lives outside of the gym. Goals I can help with range from simply aging healthfully (improving balance, grip, bone density, stamina and more) to improving performance in demanding extracurricular hobbies and sports to learning how to use a barbell with proper form.
My favorite part of my job is seeing people who never thought of themselves as gym goers discover what they’re capable of with some consistent work. Seeing someone get their first pull-up or hit a new personal best is one of my greatest joys.
